On Wednesday, the Desert Vista Thunder's's game was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Centennial by a score of 59-50.
Desert Vista can attribute much of their success to Shay Ijiwoye, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trinity Jones, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Desert Vista now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Desert Vista will head out on the road to face off against Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clovis West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Desert Vista likes a good challenge. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. Las Vegas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Centennial is ranked 28th).
