The Mosinee Indians will face off against the Edgar Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mosinee is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
If Mosinee beats Edgar with eight runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Antigo on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since June 4, 2025.
Dane Cihlar looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Baars was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Treve Stoffel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Mosinee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.
Edgar never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Abbotsford on Friday. They blew past the Falcons 12-4. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.
Lucas Stahnke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Stahnke was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Edgar is undefeated when Stahnke posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Edgar got a massive performance out of Gavin Mauer, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alex Schneider, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Edgar's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Mosinee, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mosinee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Edgar struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mosinee came out on top in a nail-biter against Edgar when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 8-7. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
