After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Long brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Brantley Bulldogs a 14-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anna Claire Free made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Free was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kaylie Foster was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Head, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Long pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Brantley, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Long has already played their next game, a 9-7 victory against Geneva on the 9th. As for Brantley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Houston Academy on the 9th.
