The Brewer Patriots will square off against the Danville Hawks at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Brewer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Danville likes a good challenge.
Brewer is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Vinemont: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Brewer blew Vinemont out of the water with a 65-37 final score. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Eagles are ranked 374th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brewer's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cam Ballinger, who went 10 for 15 en route to 23 points, and Cason Oden, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds. Those 23 points gave Ballinger a new career-high. Jackson Dunn was another key player, putting up four points.
Meanwhile, Danville beat Falkville 52-43 on Monday.
Danville's win came from a few key players Brewer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jace Glenn, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Ellenburg, who put up 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Danville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Brewer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Danville, their record now sits at 9-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Brewer has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 33.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Brewer against Danville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 58-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brewer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
