Northeast is 8-2 against the Wildcats since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Northeast Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Marmaton Valley Wildcats. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Northeast is ranked 303rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 320th).
Northeast unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Altoona-Midway 40-35. The contest was a 11-11 toss-up at halftime, but Northeast couldn't quite close it out.
Even though Marmaton Valley has not done well against the Wildcats recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marmaton Valley took their game at home with ease, bagging a 60-25 victory over the Wildcats. The win was just what Marmaton Valley needed coming off of a 60-40 loss in their prior game.
Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Marmaton Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Northeast beat the Wildcats 47-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Northeast repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
