Fruitport's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashton Olson, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Izabel Hanson-wilbur who scored 15 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.5% of Fruitport's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Unity Christian suffered a rough 57-37 defeat at the hands of West Catholic on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Unity Christian has scored all season.
Fruitport's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.4 points per game. As for Unity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Fruitport lost to Unity Christian at home by a decisive 51-32 margin in their previous meeting last Monday. Can Fruitport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
