The Faith Academy Flames will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Live Oak Classical Falcons at 1:15 p.m. Hopefully Faith Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 on Thursday.
Faith Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. They took a serious blow against Brazos Christian, falling 55-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Faith Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Faith Academy had strong showings from Natalie Weems, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, and Elleson Lehmberg, who scored no points.
Meanwhile, Live Oak Classical came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Central Texas Christian 31-14.
Faith Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Live Oak Classical, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Faith Academy lost to Live Oak Classical at home by a decisive 45-31 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Faith Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
