The biggest upset of the week belonged to The Classical Academy, who took down 39th ranked The Classical Academy, 14-3. Nikko Valdez ran for 162 yards in the win.
Pueblo Central extended the longest winning streak in 3A Southern this week by beating the Titans, 14-3. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Wildcats.
Kurt Rode and Derion Ibarra gave Pueblo East a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Rode threw for 180 yards and one touchdown, while Ibarra ran for 164 yards. Kevin Ribarich also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Dustin Vidana made the biggest impact on defense this week as Pueblo Central bested The Classical Academy. The senior pulled down one interception.
Dillon Meserve provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Pueblo County topped Harrison. He completed 10 passes for 262 yards and also ran for 34 yards. Meserve's favorite target this week was Jordan Chavez, who caught eight passes for 205 yards.
The Eagles' Rode and Felix Mestas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rode has thrown for 2135 yards this season, while Mestas, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 38 catches for 854 yards. Valdez from Zach Odell's team leads the league in rushing with 1407 yards.
Andrew Register of the David Bervig's team is only 59 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Register has rushed for 941 yards on 136 carries so far this year.
Entering into this week's contest against the Panthers, Jantzen Ryals is short just 128 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 21 touchdowns this year, Ryals has thrown for 1872 yards with 11 interceptions.
The Hornets took down the Panthers 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chavez in the win.
