They really took it to Eastern View for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-20 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Riverbend has managed all season.
Riverbend was led to victory by Hannah Alexander and Maniyah Alston. Alexander scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Alston scored 21 points along with three steals. The match was Alston's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Long, who scored five points along with three steals.
Riverbend pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Eastern View, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverbend will challenge Colonial Forge at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Eastern View and King George will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. King George presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern View in Virginia (King George is ranked 139th, while Eastern View is ranked 309th).
