Otsego and Evergreen are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Evergreen will be up against a hot Otsego team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand Rossford a 10-0 shutout on Monday. That ten-run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evergreen). Everything went their way against Delta on Monday as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Nolan Hudik made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Evergreen got a massive performance out of Bryce Bolger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Bolger is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Chris Shrader was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Evergreen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Evergreen picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Otsego, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Otsego might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Evergreen in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
