Iowa came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alivia Singletary was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Allie Darbonne, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Iowa pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Vandebilt Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their 15-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-1.

Iowa has already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against South Beauregard on the 10th. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-4 win against David Thibodaux on the 8th.
