Rocky Hill unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They suffered a rough 61-39 defeat at the hands of Newington. Rocky Hill has not had much luck with Newington recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Plainville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Middletown, falling 59-29. While losing is never fun, Plainville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Middletown is ranked 31st).
Rocky Hill's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Plainville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Everything went Rocky Hill's way against Plainville when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Rocky Hill made off with a 49-26 victory. Will Rocky Hill repeat their success, or does Plainville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
