The Hickory Red Tornadoes put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by North Iredell at home to the tune of 95-34. Hickory has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.
Hickory was led to victory by Hunter Fisher and Jamien Little. Fisher scored 16 points, while Little scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fisher has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Littlejohn, who scored 12 points.
Hickory pushed their record up to 17-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.3 points per game. As for North Iredell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. East Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Hickory likes a good challenge. North Iredell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Foard at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Foard is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
