The Union County Braves were the 69-63 winner over the Dawson Springs Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Union County fell 66-54 to Dawson Springs on Monday.
Dawson Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rex Blue led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Blue's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaybird Plunkette, who scored 20 points.
Union County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Dawson Springs, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crittenden County at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Crittenden County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Dawson Springs, they will play host again and welcome Henderson County, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
