Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lakeside

Lakeside had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Effingham County Rebels by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Lakeside won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22.

Emily Jost paced Lakeside's offense, picking up nine kills. Jost got some help from Dayea Matocha and her 12 assists. Shelby Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Effingham County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Lakeside has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Midland Valley on the 3rd. As for Effingham County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Pierce County on the 4th.
