The Parrish Community Bulls will face off against the Braden River Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Parrish Community has eight straight victories, Braden River has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Parrish Community got the win against North Fort Myers by a conclusive 14-3. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Emmaline Van Beck spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Braden River came up short against DeSoto County on Friday, falling 15-9.
Emily Crestani was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Leighton Paul, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Parrish Community's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Braden River, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Braden River's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Parrish Community has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Braden River, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Parrish Community keep running through batters, or will the Pirates buck the trend?
Everything went Parrish Community's way against Braden River when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Parrish Community made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Bulls repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
