The South Platte Blue Knights lost against the Garden County Eagles last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. South Platte fell to Garden County 53-49. South Platte has struggled against Garden County recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why South Platte lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dashle Richards. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Richards hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Cavin Lanman, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garden County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Levick, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Levick hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyland Lobner, who scored 14 points along with eight steals.
South Platte has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Garden County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Platte will take on Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Garden County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sutherland.
