Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hebron). They came out on top against the Marcus Marauders by a score of 49-42 on Friday. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Marauders on their field since October 13, 2017.
Marcus' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Nussmeier, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 89 yards and one score on only eight carries. Nussmeier's longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Luke Susko was Nussmeier's top target, picking up 145 receiving yards and three TDs.
With the win, Hebron broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Marcus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
