Trailways - Large recap Oct. 3, 2012
Deerfield extended the longest winning streak in Trailways - Large this week by beating Dodgeland, 48-22. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Demons.
Pardeeville took down Markesan 44-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Hornets' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andrew Gibbons threw for 181 and two touchdowns and Logan Grahn had 120 yards receiving. On the ground Grahn chipped in 74 yards. Vince Stensrud helped Markesan's passing attack out by catching two balls for 26 yards.
Markesan's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gibbons has thrown for 735 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Grahn has 21 catches for 281 yards. Kyle Jahnke leads the league in rushing with 520 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Lourdes. Pardeeville is currently in third, while the Knights are in second.
Lourdes led Trailways - Large in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on Horicon.
