There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Wilsonville's senior Nathan Overholt, who scored seven total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Welcome
South Medford brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (seven points) in the match before. The final score between it and North Medford was a 35 - 0 blowout in South Medford's favor. At 35 points, that marked South Medford's largest margin of victory so far this year. The win also thrust it into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 23rd spot.
Can't Touch This
Wilsonville got a 53 - 7 win over Pendleton last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Nathan Overholt. Overholt threw for 423 yards and six touchdowns. That performance made Overholt one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Tigard and Tualatin, 4th and 8th in the power rankings, respectively. Tigard took its game by a score of 27 - 14. Even if it didn't bump it up the rankings, the win at least kept the team from dropping.
Next Week's Big Game
It should be quite a contest when Hermiston (ranked 14th in OR) and Central Valley (37th in WA) face off this week. This will be the second home game in a row for Hermiston. It has never lost back-to-back this season, but Central Valley hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
