Holton extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 6-3 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Jefferson West Tigers. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Wildcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

As for Jefferson West, they moved to 16-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Jefferson West's part, Addison Garrett spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Garrett has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jefferson West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmie Dean, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Dean has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holton beat Jefferson West by a score of 12-2 later that day.
