The South Holt Knights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 53-20 win over East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] at home. The result was nothing new for South Holt, who have now won seven matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Cole Medsker, who rushed for 165 yards, and also threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Cade Kurtz did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.
South Holt's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Stewartsville and 2-8 Mound City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.9% over those games). As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they now have a losing record at 4-5.
South Holt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Andrew at 7:00 p.m. North Andrew is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
