Softball Game Preview: Bayfront Charter Sharks vs. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras

Bayfront Charter is 9-1 against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sharks will venture away from home to face off against the Cobras at 3:30 p.m. Bayfront Charter will be strutting in after a victory while Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will be coming in after a defeat.

Bayfront Charter had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Ocean View Christian on Tuesday. The Sharks were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Patriots. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Ariana Carbajal was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Carbajal was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Bayfront Charter let Ahloni Garcia and Anahi Del Rosario run wild. Garcia got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Del Rosario went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Del Rosario a new career-high. Ashley Castillo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bayfront Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Liberty Charter hit Chula Vista Learning Community Charter with a seven-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cobras lost 11-1 to the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cobras couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Bayfront Charter, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-15.

Bayfront Charter might still be hurting after the 14-7 defeat they got from Chula Vista Learning Community Charter in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
