Maroa-Forsyth and Tri-Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Trojans will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Vikings at 10:00 a.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Maroa-Forsyth barely beat Warrensburg-Latham the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans blew past the Cardinals 11-3 on Friday. Considering the Trojans have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Danni Hovey made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maroa-Forsyth let Adelyn Simmons and Taylor Crouch run wild. Simmons went 2-for-5 with three runs and one double, while Crouch went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Crouch has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylin Osborn, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Paxton-Buckley-Loda with a sharp 14-0 win. The contest marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season.
Like Maroa-Forsyth, Tri-Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Gretchen Wyant. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Wyant was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Molly Vandiver was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Alex Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Tri-Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paxton-Buckley-Loda only posted a batting average of .176.
Maroa-Forsyth's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Tri-Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-1 record this season.
Maroa-Forsyth beat Tri-Valley 11-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
