The Bertie Falcons won against the Riverside-Martin Knights on Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Bertie came out on top against the Knights by a score of 61-48. That's two games straight that Bertie has won by exactly 13 points.
Bertie was led to victory by Alexia Dickerson and Rakiyah Peele. Dickerson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Peele scored 32 points along with six rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Peele has scored at least a third of Bertie's points.
Bertie now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Riverside-Martin, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Bertie will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Barons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gates County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in North Carolina (the Red Barons are ranked 123rd, while the Falcons are ranked 340th). Riverside-Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
