The Stigler Panthers managed to keep up with the Berryhill Chiefs until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Stigler was outmatched by Berryhill on the road and fell 42-14. Stigler was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Berryhill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Although Stigler took the loss, they still got scores from Mckade Peery and Houston Perry.
Dalton Barrington was his usual excellent self, rushing for 142 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Barrington is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Payne, who threw for 140 yards and a touchdown.
Stigler's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Berryhill, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stigler will take on Checotah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Checotah is ranked 82nd, while Stigler is ranked 105th). As for Berryhill, they will be playing at home against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
