The Joseph City Wildcats will head out to face off against the Window Rock Fighting Scouts at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Joseph City will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Joseph City had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt St. Michael on Tuesday. Joseph City blew past St. Michael 14-8. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kase Fish was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Fish was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Ben Beatty was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while going 3-for-4. Justin Gardner was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one double.
Joseph City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Window Rock lost 17-1 to Chinle on Wednesday. The Fighting Scouts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Window Rock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Young, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Joseph City's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Window Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Joseph City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Window Rock struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Joseph City might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Window Rock in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Can Joseph City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
