The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tuscaloosa Academy, who defeated 141st ranked Kingwood Christian, 47-0.
Bessemer Academy added to the longest winning streak in AISA AAA Region 1 this week by beating Coosa Valley Academy, 33-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Rebels.
Bessemer Academy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lucas Vining threw for 200 and 2 touchdowns and Justin Pratt had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Noah Napier contributed 161 yards. Matt Kyker helped Bessemer Academy's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 58 yards.

C'Yontai Lewis made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions lost to the Knights. He nabbed 1 interception.

Kingwood Christian's Gavin Sumrall and Montez Haynes led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sumrall has thrown for 2,231 yards this season, while Haynes has 40 catches for 965 yards. Thomas DeGrange from Lee-Scott Academy leads the league in rushing with 1,065 yards.
Steve Birmingham's team's Haynes is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 35 receiving yards against Restoration Academy to hit that benchmark. So far this year, he has acheived 40 catches for 965 yards.
Tuscaloosa Academy took down the Lions 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
