The Vista Grande Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-49 to Browne. Vista Grande lost against Browne in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-57 score last time.
Despite the loss, Vista Grande still got an impressive performance from Wade Eshom, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Corbyn Downs, who scored 12 points.
Browne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Chaffin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Chaffin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Desmyn Beavers-smith, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Vista Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Browne, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista Grande will take on Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thunderbird has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three games. As for Browne, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65 points per game.
