The Clearview Clippers won the last time they faced the Brookside Cardinals, and things went their way on Friday too. Clearview claimed a resounding 48-7 victory over Brookside at home. The result was nothing new for Clearview, who have now won six matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Clearview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cy Christensen led the charge by throwing for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was Dominic Jackson, who gained 119 total yards and a touchdown.
Clearview's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Oberlin and 1-8 Wellington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.9% over those games). As for Brookside, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Clearview will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkshire at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
