The Amelia Academy Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 55-36 bruising from Tidewater Academy. Amelia Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tidewater Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Amelia Academy had strong showings from Kyle Anderson, who scored 23 points along with five steals and two blocks, and Carson Roberts, who scored nine points along with two steals. That was a full 63.9% of Amelia Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Amelia Academy dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tidewater Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15.
Amelia Academy will take on Southampton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tidewater Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Kenston Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kenston Forest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tidewater Academy in Virginia (Kenston Forest is ranked 191st, while Tidewater Academy is ranked 439th).
