The Dunellen Destroyers's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Wednesday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Academy for Urban Leadership Charter 68-43. Dunellen's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Dunellen found their leader in underclassman Vibert Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The game was Reynolds' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ryan Hutchins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Dunellen's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-4. As for Academy for Urban Leadership Charter, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Dunellen's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Manville at 7:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Academy for Urban Leadership Charter will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Monmouth Regional at 4:30 p.m. on January 2nd.
