The Chino Hills Huskies will square off against the Colony Titans at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Chino Hills will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Chino Hills had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Santa Fe on Wednesday. Chino Hills put the hurt on Santa Fe with a sharp 10-2 victory. That looming 10-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Huskies yet this season.
Aydan Maxson tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Branden Kim was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Chino Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Colony, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Upland on Thursday by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Colony also got a great performance from Steven Gonzales as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave Gonzales a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ricardo Zazueta, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Colony pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chino Hills, their record is now 9-2.
Chino Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Colony when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chino Hills since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
