Even though Novi has not done well against Brighton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Novi blew past Brighton 62-38. Given Novi's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Brighton is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Novi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaron Lauer, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Chase LeFevre, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Hartland's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Novi, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Hartland came up short against Novi in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 55-42. Can Hartland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
