After flying high against the Timberland Wolves last Monday, the Cross Trojans came back down to earth. Cross fell 76-66 to Stratford on Monday. It was the first time this season that Cross let down their fans at home.
Caden Ramsey and Jamez Way certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Ramsey dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds, while Way scored 25 points along with five steals. The match was Way's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lavell Joyner, who scored six points.
Cross' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Stratford, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross will be home for the holidays to greet Riverpointe Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Riverpointe Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. Stratford won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stall at 8:30 p.m. on December 19th. Stall is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
