The Bullitt Central Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Iroquois 77-37 at home. The win was just what Bullitt Central needed coming off of a 50-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, Iroquois saw an underclassman step up: Maliyah Poindexter scored 21 points. That was a full 56.8% of Iroquois' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bullitt Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Iroquois, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bullitt Central will face off against Bullitt East on Saturday. As for Iroquois, they will head out on the road to square off against Portland Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
