Deubrook has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Deubrook's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
Last Thursday, Deubrook strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 66-49.
Deubrook can attribute much of their success to Landen Johnson, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Gavin Landmark, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Landmark has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jp Rogness, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Even though Great Plains Lutheran has not done well against the Cardinals recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Great Plains Lutheran came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 57-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Great Plains Lutheran.
Myles York was nothing short of spectacular: he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Czerwan, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Deubrook now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Deubrook didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 69-63 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Deubrook since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
