Softball Recap: Norwell Wins Going Away Against Heritage

Norwell was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Heritage Patriots. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mia Kurtz and Reese Frauhiger did most of the damage at the plate: Kurtz got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Frauhiger went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three runs gave Kurtz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leah Werling, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Norwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted an OBP of .375.

Norwell's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwell will square off against DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Heritage, they will face off against Garrett at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
