Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Jones Longhorns, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They and the Warriors were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but they suffered an agonizing 35-34 defeat. Jones' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Jones' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayton Creasey, who threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Isaiah Sawyer also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Washington, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Washington will head out on the road to face off against Millwood at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Millwood: 13.1, Washington: 7.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
