It was another big night for Brian Kapfer, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points and seven assists. The contest was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Toomer, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points.
Kapfer wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Fordham Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Salesian was able to grind out a solid win over LaSalle Academy on Sunday, taking the game 69-61. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Fordham Prep better keep an eye on Julien Wiggins. He was instrumental in Salesian's win, as he made all 9 shots he took to post 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wiggins has scored at least a third of Salesian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevaughn Mitchell, who made all 8 shots he took to post 16 points.
Salesian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Fordham Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Fordham Prep and Salesian are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Fordham Prep hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.2 points per game. However, it's not like Salesian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Fordham Prep strolled past Salesian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 71-53. Does Fordham Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Salesian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
