The DeSoto County Bulldogs suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Hardee by a score of 55-52. DeSoto County's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
DeSoto County's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Miller and Jeremiah Ward. Miller scored nine points along with eight steals, while Ward scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ward scored 15 or more points. Azir Blanding was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Among those leading the charge was Phoenix Romeo, who scored 18 points.
DeSoto County's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Hardee, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
DeSoto County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lake Placid at 7:30 p.m. Lake Placid is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Hardee, they will head out on the road to square off against Mulberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mulberry is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
