The Tornillo Coyotes lost against the Kermit Yellow Jackets on January 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tornillo was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Kermit. Tornillo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Diego Juarez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kermit, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Juarez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Zeke Espino was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Tornillo has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Kermit, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Alpine the next time they take the court. Tornillo will head out to face Alpine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kermit will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
