Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin County). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Port Gibson Blue Waves  a   23-0 shutout  on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine contests by more than six  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Joy Woodard made a big impact no matter where she played. She  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Woodard was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. She also put up a  double, which was her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Greyonne Queen was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. Those  four  runs gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Jhalayah Tillman, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Franklin County is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6-1 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Port Gibson,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
 Coincidentally, Franklin County and Port Gibson will both be playing Wesson the next time they take the field. The Blue Waves will  host the Cobras at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday.
