The Avon Panthers put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 83-46 win over Norfolk County Agricultural. Avon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Thomas Irby, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Guerrier, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Avon pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Norfolk County Agricultural, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Westport at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Westport will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Avon is ranked 88th). Norfolk County Agricultural won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Shore Vo-Tech at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th.
