4A District 1 recap October 8, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Piedmont, who defeated 133rd ranked Cache, 20-14.
The Wildcats scaled the state rankings by moving to 139 from 176 this week, the biggest jump in 4A District 1. Piedmont was able to move up by besting the Bulldogs 20-14.
Anadarko's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Pollard threw for 68 and 1 touchdown and Brayden Alexander had 64 yards receiving. On the ground RJ Sink contributed 229 yards.
Sink was a beast in the backfield as the Warriors defeated Elk City.
Sink provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Anadarko bested the Elks. Sink's favorite target this week was Alexander, who caught 2 passes for 64 yards.
Malik Boardingham made the biggest impact on defense this week as Kent Jackson's team defeated Elk City. The 6-foot-4 junior racked up 3 sacks.
Sink was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 229 yards on 8 carries as the Warriors defeated Jason Scheck's team. Traymayne Wauahdooah also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
Anadarko's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pollard has thrown for 642 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Alexander has 16 catches for 306 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Anadarko and Clinton. The Warriors enters the contest ranked 14th in the state, while the Red Tornadoes ranks 23rd.
There should be lots of points scored when Anadarko and Clinton face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Warriors comes in having scored 319 this season, while Mike Lee's team has scored 113. Anadarko scored 68 points last week as it beat the Elks.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Warriors take on the Red Tornadoes. Anadarko has allowed 42 points this season, while Clinton has given up 74. The Warriors allowed 7 points last week as they topped Elk City.
Anadarko added to the longest winning streak in 4A District 1 this week by beating the Elks, 68-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Warriors.
