Hobgood Charter has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Ocracoke Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hobgood Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 84-50 win over Cape Hatteras. Hobgood Charter pushed the score to 70-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hurricanes had no chance of recovering from.
Hobgood Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khrie Rascoe led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rascoe has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyhe Higgs, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Ocracoke had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-26 victory over Columbia at home.
The win got Hobgood Charter back to even at 7-7. As for Ocracoke, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Hobgood Charter ended up a good deal behind the Dolphins when the teams last played last Thursday, losing 67-53. Can Hobgood Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
