It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Williams Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Hunt as Williams made off with a 44-22 win. The win was nothing new for Williams as they're now sitting on six straight.
It was another big night for Haneef Rasheed II, who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 67 receiving yards. Dan Mahan was another key contributor, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Hunt still got an impressive performance from Naseer Deberry, who rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Williams pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Hunt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Williams will head out on the road to face off against Seventy-First at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seventy-First is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Hunt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
