Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Lumen Christi Catholic's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Lumen Christi Catholic picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Hudson Tigers with a sharp 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 17 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lumen Christi Catholic got a big performance out of Codi Ruge, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Ruge has posted over her last 11 games. Bree Okoniewski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Lumen Christi Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hudson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Lumen Christi Catholic is taking a road trip to take on Columbia Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 2.5, the Golden Eagles 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hudson, they will host Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redwolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
