The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Owls earlier this season, when they won  2-1.
 New Castle started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 20-25, 25-20, 30-28,  15-10.
 Elysah Williams paced New Castle's offense, picking up 19 kills. Williams got some help from  Megan Luce and her 22 assists. Williams was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
 Muncie Burris was led to victory by  Anna Murray and  Anna Howell.  Murray  had nine  digs and two  aces, while  Howell  had three  digs and three  aces. Those  nine  digs gave  Murray a new career-high.
New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Muncie Burris, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the  win, which was their 11th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Coming up, New Castle will head out to  take on Frankton  at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Muncie Burris, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  matchup,  a  3-1  defeat against NorthWood on the 4th.
