Point Loma and Academy of Our Lady of Peace squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but Point Loma had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pilots by a score of  3-2. The Pointers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pilots earlier this season, when they won  3-0.
 Point Loma took Academy of Our Lady of Peace into a fifth set  but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-12, 20-25, 25-19,  15-9.
 Caroline Tadder paced Point Loma's offense, picking up 14 kills. Tadder got some help from  Aurora Fernandez and her 18 assists.  Olivia Karvelis controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.
  Amanda Guzman went supernova For Academy of Our Lady of Peace.,  getting 25  digs and three  aces. That's the most  digs  Guzman has posted since October 8th.
Point Loma's loss  ended  a  four-match streak of away wins  and  brought them to 18-12. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 17-10.
 Point Loma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they will square off against Carlsbad at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
